Collecting Medieval Replica Swords
January 29th, 2012 . by adminAs a collector of swords for several years, it never ceases to amaze me just how many different types of people are attracted to this hobby. While I collect medieval replicas and the occasional fantasy sword (although, I will pretty much get anything that really appeals to me), there are people out there who collect absolutely everything on the market – to the point that they run out of space on their walls. Other people only collect one type of sword, such as cutlasses, or from one period in history, such as the Renaissance. When it comes to the reasons for collecting swords, they are as vast and varied as the people themselves are. Some are real history buffs and want something that mirrors the era they love. Others just think swords look cool hung on the wall (or on the waist in the case of people who dress up and attend Renaissance fairs. That is one of the great things about the hobby – there is really something for everyone.
