Don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally useless. She likes pink of course, and white and likes wood (“no plastic daddy!”), and I can normally whittle it down to 2 or 3 things she may like (dressing tables for example), however it’s that final decision that I find hard.

Most things, or most nice things, are pretty expensive nowadays, so getting it wrong isn’t good. Seeing a disappointed daughter isn’t good either!

I’m hoping this will get easier as time moves on, but as it is, thank goodness for sisters!

On Saturday morning I got to my mother’s house very early in the morning. I was going to be doing a lot of yard work out there and I didn’t want to be doing it after 10 in the morning. She said that she could not decide which ones that she wants to buy for the groomsmen that are going to be in her upcoming wedding. I told her that I could not wait to see them.

I am used to buying brand name products because the quality is usually better than the name brand items. Right now, with my husband being the primary bread winner in the family he asked me if I could figure out a way to save money. I started out by looking at our food budget and I realized that there was some wiggle room in there. So I started buying generic toothpaste but my husband did not like the quality of it so he found some colgate coupons that I could use for my next toothpaste purchase.

I recently took a long road trip to eastern europe with my new girlfriend who comes from the Czech Republic. My girlfriend’s family live in a remote rural district close to the city of Most in the Most district. Most was a very picturesque town to visit and my sat nav guided us through the narrow medieval streets without too much trouble. But things certainly changed when we headed into the hills toward my girl friend’s family home.

The first sign that things were not going to plan was when my sat nav told us to turn left into a field full of corn. Clearly there was something amiss. Next, we were negotiating some sharp hairpin bends on a steep incline when the sat nav told us to turn right, which was impossible at that time.

The sat nav had become completely lost. Luckily for me I had my own personal guide and my girlfriend was able to steer me toward her parents home. Luckily I wasn’t relying on the sat nav because if I had I would have ended up sitting in a field full of corn.
